Guy Gardner

Guy Gardner, 87, longtime Stockport resident, died suddenly Sunday morning, Oct. 22, at his home in Stockport.

The funeral services was held Wednesday at 1 p.m., at the Stockport United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Suetterlin officiating. Burial was in the Spencer Cemetery at Stockport.

Gardner was born Sept. 28, 1885, at Fairfield, the son of Albert and Mary Loring Gardner. On April 21, 1909, he was married to Ethel T. Huff. A retired farmer, Gardner had lived in the Stockport Community for over 70 years.

He is survived by his widow, one son, Harold Gardner of Davenport and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers and four sisters, John Gardner of Bentonsport, Tom Gardner of Boulder, Colo., Robert Gardner of Mesa, Ariz., A.R. (Slim) Gardner of Fairfield, Mrs. Ray Church of Bonaparte, Mrs. T.T. Stuckey of Fairfield, Mrs. Ray Grant of Sun City, Ariz., and Mrs. Flossie Turley of Orange, Calif.

He was preceded in death by four children, two brothers and one sister.
