Kenneth H. Robbins

Kenneth Harold Robbins, 58, of Mt. Sterling, died at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, after suffering a heart attack while fishing at a pond near Mt. Sterling.

He was born Aug. 23, 1914 at Troy to William and Myrtle Kelley Robbins. On Sept. 28, 1940 he married Nola Hervey at Kahoka, Mo. He was a veteran of World War II and worked as a heavy equipment operator for various construction companies until his health forced him to retire a year ago.

He is survived by his widow; a son, Kenneth Wayne Robbins of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Nelson of Bonaparte and Mrs. Connie McCartney of Farmington; four grandsons; a brother, Dan Robbins of Mt. Zion; two sisters Mrs. Edith Schutz of Burlington and Mrs. Virgle Archer of Milton. His parents and a sister preceded him in death.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Millard Marshall officiating. Burial was at Harness Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
