Mrs. Evelyn Kisling

Mrs. Evelyn Amelia Kisling, 68, died at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua where she had been a patient for two days.

She was born Sept. 26, 1903 at Camanche, Iowa, the daughter of Jay C 7/8 Elizabeth Metcalf Brown. On June 23, 1923 she married Roy E. Kisling at Keosauqua. He died in 1969.

She is survived by five sons, Robert, Dwight and Paul of Keosauqua, Charles of Stockport and Dean of Cedar Rapids; six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Manley of Monmouth, Ill., Mrs. Mildred Bowman of Mt. Sterling, Mrs. Helen Manley of Libertyville, Iowa, Mrs. Grace Whitfield of Perry, Fla., Mrs. Lola Jewell of East Moline, Ill., Carol Kisling of Cedar Rapids: Ill., Carol Kisling of Cedar Rapids; 28 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, a son Carl preceded her in death.

Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua had charge of arrangements. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 in the Keosauqua Christian Church, with the Rev. Donald Hickman of Fairfield officiating. Burial was in Miller Chapel Cemetery near Keosauqua.
