Ernest G. Millmeyer

Ernest G. Millmeyer, 65, of Farmington died at 4:10 p.m. Monday, July 31, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Iowa City.

He was born March 2, 1907 in Edina, Mo., the son of Bernard and Lena Hoenig Millmeyer.

He married Arlene Muntz July 5, 1932 at Springfield, Ill. She survives.

He has been a resident of Farmington for one year moving to Farmington from Marshalltown where he lived 17 years. Prior to that he lived in Fort Madison for 45 years. He was a pressman for the Fort Madison Democrat for 21 years and for the Time-Republican in Marshalltown 17 years. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic church in Fort Madison; and was a member of the Senior Citizens of Farmington.

In addition to his widow, Arlene, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Meyertholen of Fort Madison, Mrs. Beatrice Wireman of Washington, ill., and Sister M. Jeanette O.S.F. of East Peoria, Ill.; two nieces and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at the Sacred Heart church, Fort Madison. The Rev. James Lawrence will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery. The Parish Wake Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Nieters Chapel in Ft. Madison.
