Rex S. Johnson

Rex S. Johnson, 74, Hillsboro, RR1, died suddenly at his home Sunday evening, July 30.

Mr. Johnson was a former president of the Lee County Farm Bureau.

He was born March 24, 1898, at Mt. Union.

On Dec. 19, 1919, at Ottumwa, he married Cordelia Fry, who survives. He was a graduate of Iowa State University, Ames.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Max and Howard, both of Hillsboro, Kenneth of Stockport and Arnold of Westmont, Ill.; a brother, Delbert of Batavia; a sister, Alyce Ornduff, San Jose, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

His parents were Edward and Ann Wick Johnson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday in the Hillsboro Baptist church. The Rev. L.H. Smith officiated. Burial was in the Hillsboro cemetery.
