DIED
In Bonaparte, Tuesday morning, Fenruary 25, 1879, Jennie E., wife of L. H. Ryland. Aged 26 years.

Deceased was a native of Cross Creek township, Washington county, Pennsylvania. Her father died in June 1869; her mother, two brothers, and one sister survive her. She made a profession of religion in 1869 uniting with the Presbyterian church of her native town and county, then under the ministry of the Rev. John Stockton. In March, 1878, she united by letter, with the Presbyterian church of Bonaparte.

She was married Tuesday, March 25, '78 to Mr. L. H. Ryland--who, after a happy but short married life of not quite one year, has been called to mourn the tie thus broken asunder. She leaves an infant daughter, born January 10, 1879.

It is needless for us to say that her husband, aged mother, and sister have the warmest sympathy of every one in their sad bereavement.

None knew Jennie Phillips but to love and respect her. Her countenance always wearing a pleasant smile--having a kind word for all, and an unkind word for none; and ready at all times to lend a helping hand. But she is gone. No more will she be seen among us; no more will her presence be visible in the church and sabbath school, or her voice to be heard uniting with others in the service of song. But she will not soon be forgotten. Many months will the remembrance of her live in the hearts, not only of her nearest relatives, but of all who knew her. And no doubt the hands of love and friendship will plant the evergreen over her grave, emblematic of that love which death itself cannot destroy; emblematic also of that youth which will be given to all of the Savior's ransomed ones, and which will never grow old--as throughout eternal ages they live and walk amid the streets of that city whose Builder and Maker is God.

The funeral took place to-day at 2 o'clock p.m. services being held at the Presbyterian church, Rev. J. Welch officiating.
