Margaret Jones was born in Ohio, Dec. 26, 1839 and died at her home in Keosauqua, Iowa, Arpil 26, 1919, aged 79 years and 4 months. She came with her parents Ellis and Sarah Ann Rader Jones from Ohio in 1855 and in the same year was united in marriage to Henry King, locating on a farm in Mercer Co., MO. To this union were born
4 children, Morris King of Brunea, ID; Ohio King of Meridian, ID; Mrs. Jalina M. King Murphy of Keosauqua, IA; and Henry V. King who died at the age of 2 yrs. Her husband Henry V. King was killed by "bushwhackers" on April 7, 1863. She moved to Iowa and on Nov. 19, 1874 was married to Robert Seaman and to this union 4 children were born: J.J. of Milton, IA; Mrs. Anna Woodin, Cantril, IA; Mrs. Sophia Ellis, Keosauqua, IA; Nell Seaman who is still at home. She leaves to mourn their loss beside her children, 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 4 sisters, George Jones of Jamesport, MO; Luther Jones and Mrs. Ella Funk, Boise, ID; Mrs. Rachel Bixler, Harrison, NE; Mrs. Mary E. Courtright, Spokane, WA, Mrs. G.W. Davidson, Keosauqua, IA and a host of friends and neighbors. She united with the Christian Church at Keosauqua many years ago, remaining a faithful member to the end, deeply regretting her inability to attend the services of the church through her declinig years. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Apr. 28, 1919 at the Chrisitan Church at Keosauqua, by the Rev. Lloyd Tenant, pastor of the Methodist church of Deep River, IA, assisted by Rev. Jesse A. Monkman, pastor of the Keosauqua M.E. church, interment being made in Fellow's Cemetery, south of Keosauqua, IA.Submitted by LuRee Runnells, Margaret Jones King Seaman was my grt.-grt.-grandmother, and I have a newspaper Obit. in my possession.
