Nannie Jane Bechtel

Nannie Jane Bechtel, the daughter of William and Laura Johnson, was born December 17, 1895, in Scotland County and passed away April 12, 1976, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital.

On August 23, 1911, at Memphis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Edward G. Bechtel, two daughters were born to this union.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, Agnes Johnson, and Louella Harmon; three brothers, John, Harry, and Harley Johnson.

Those surviving Mrs. Bechtel are her daughters, Mrs. Victor (Edna) Patton, of Memphis, Missouri, and Mrs. Clifford (Georgie) Buck of Robertsville, Missouri; Two brothers, William Johnson, Memphis, Missouri, and Patrick Johnson, Souix(sp) City, Iowa, four grandchildren, Kenneth and Keith Eggleston, Dick Morris and Nancy Gist, also seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was a member of the Brock United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were conducted by D.W. Payne & Sons from their Memphis Chapel, Thursday, April 15, 1976, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiating. Soloist was Kenneth Campbell. Organist, Mrs. Ann Luther. Pallbearers were Keith, Kenneth, Dirk, Mark, and Trent Eggleston, and Richard Morris. Interment was in Brock Cemetery north of Memphis.
