Beulah Baker Services Held On Friday

Beulah Agnes Baker, daughter of Thomas and Emma Wise Kennedy, was born near Memphis, Missouri, Septembre(err) 9, 1894, and passed away at K.O. Hospital, August 5th, 969, at 2:00 p.m., at the age of 74 years, 11 months, and 3 days. She lived most of her lifetime in Scotland County, Missouri, being raised by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Kennedy.

On March 3, 1912, she married Curt Richard Baker, and to this union eight children were born: three girls and five boys. Early in life Beulah accepted Christ as her savior and became a member of the Richland Baptist Church. Later she moved her membership to the First Baptist Church in Memphis, where she remained an active member as long as her health would permit.

Surviving her are her step-mother, Mrs. Della Kennedy, of Blandinsville, Illinois; one half sister, Marguerite Slucher, of Little Rock, Arkansas; a half-brother, Edwin Kennedy of Carthage, Illinois; and the following children: Vesta (Claude) Shelley, Memphis, Wayne Baker, Memphis, Edna (Irven) Archer, Milton, Iowa, Ray Baker, Memphis, Minnie (Owen) Tucker, Lancaster, Curt R. Baker, Jr., Keokuk, Iowa, Carl Baker of the Air Force, Clearfield, Utah, and Charles W. Baker, Belton, Missouri; three sons-in-law; 31 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

On March 3, 1962, Mr. and Mrs. Baker celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. He passed away on January 21, 1963.

Mrs. Baker will be sadly missed by her friends and family, whom she loved dearly.

Until a very late date due to illness, she never forgot a birthday with a card.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church on August 8th, 1969, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. J.S. Laws officiating. The body was laid to rest beside her husband at the Richland Cemetery at Hitt.

Pallbearers were eight of her older grandsons. They were Loen Tucker, Wayne Baker, Jr., Larry Archer, Dennis Baker, Michael Baker, Stephen Baker, James Tucker. Honarary pallbearers were: Smith, John Jones, Millard O'Dell, Roy Tucker, Harlan Hunziker, and Wayne Hodges. Music was furnished by Deloes Alexander, Chris Bloomfield and Carolyn Tucker.
