Alene Barker

Wilda Alene Barker, 75, of rural Troy died Aug. 4, 1988, at the home of her daughter.

She was born Feb. 16, 1913, near Troy to Warrin and Alta Steele Loar. She was a member of Bloomfield Christian Church and Troy Rebekah Lodge 510.

She married Donald R. Barker Oct. 5, 1930, in Bloomfield. He died March 9, 1981.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Downing of Troy; a son, Leon of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Hopkins of Pulaski.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and a great-granddaughter.

The service was held Aug. 6 at Priester Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield conducted by the Rev. Leonard Camp. Burial was in Troy Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Troy Cemetery Avenue of Flags.
