WIFE OF STEAMBOAT CAPTAIN

A committal service for Mrs. Robert Farris, 80, was held at 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon in the Farmington cemetery.

Mrs. Farris died early Sunday, June 16, in Keokuk. She was born Feb. 7, 1860, in Wisconsin. She came to Farmington when seven years of age. She was married to Robert Farris in Farmington in 1880. She was a member of the Christian church. Mr. Farris was a captain of a steamboat on the Des Moines river in an early day.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters. Survivors are a granddaughter, Edith, who lived with Mrs. Farris.
