Ralph (Sammy) Welcher

MT. PLEASANT - Ralph (Sammy) Welcher, 67, of 303 E. Clay died in Henry County Health Center at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday, May 4.

He was born to John and Mary Holland Welcher. He married Ruth Charter Dec. 22, 1938, in Burlington.

He was a retired farmer.

Surviving: The wife; two daughters, Karen Allen, Olds, and Patricia Osborn, Middletown; six brothers, William, Manchester, Gene, Gladstone, Ill., Robert, West Burlington, Joseph, Burlington, and Paul and Lee, both of Mt. Pleasant; five sisters, Erma Hayward, Clearwater, Fla., Vera Durbin, Hedrick, Marilyn Welcher, Keosauqua, Betty Hining, Fairfield, and Genevieve Brown, New London; and five grandsons.

Funeral: 3 p.m. Friday, Church of the Open Bible, the Rev. Charles Courtney; Forest Home Cemetery.
