HUSBAND AND WIFE DIE ON SAME DAY

Last Friday, December 28th, both Mr. and Mrs. William Overholt died at their home at Granger. They had not been well, and owing to their advanced age, neighbors had been assisting them. On Friday when no one saw them about, Judge C. E. B. Selby, whose produce house is near their residence went to their home and found them both dead.

Mr. Overholt was lying on a bed and it is thought he passed away about three o'clock Friday morning. Mrs. Overholt's body was found on the floor and it is believed she died about six o'clock that morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Overholt have lived in Granger for many years. Mr. Overholt was a carpenter by trade, and worked at that trade for several years. Later he had a mill at Granger and started a small electric light plant there several years ago, giving Granger the first electric lights of any town of that size in northeast Missouri.

The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon and burial was in the new cemetery, east of Granger. Mr. Overholt has one sister who lives at Des Moines. She was notified and came to take charge of the double funeral.
