Sam Lunsford

WYACONDA, Mo. - A funeral for Sam Lunsford, 84, of Wyaconda, who died Wednesday Aug. 25 at his home will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Wyaconda Christian Church with the Rev. E. Emerson Brokaw officiating.

Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, Iowa.

Visitation will be until 9 this evening at the Payne-Gerth Funeral Home at Wyaconda.

He was born July 27, 1898 in Milton, the son of James and Helena Eller Lunsford. He married Francis Marie McLeland in 1935.

Lunsford was a member of Christian Church of Wyaconda and serves as an honorary deacon.

Survivors include his wife; one son, thomas of Knoxville; two grandchildren; two brothers, Wesley, of Milton, and Bernie, of Cantril; and a sister, Parolea Wheaton of Milton.
