S. Snyder Dies At 72

STOCKPORT - Sarah Hesselgesser Snyder, 72, died unexpectedly at 9:05 a.m., Sunday at the home of her stepson, Keith Snyder in Stockport. She had not been ill.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery at Washington. A memorial has been established to the Stockport Library.

The daughter of Lewis and Margaret Morrow she was born March 26, 1905 in Washington County, On Feb. 24, 1923, she married Merle Hesselgesser in Washington. They farmed in the Libertyville, Douds and Keosauqua communities. He died in 1965.

On Dec. 24, 1966, she married Forest Roy Snyder and had resided in Stockport. He died in 1969.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Campbell of Keswick and Mrs. Mary Mullins of Chariton; four stepsons, Forest Snyder of Des Moines, Keith Snyder of Stockport, Norman Snyder of Mount Pleasant and Bill Snyder of Muskegan, Mich.; four step-daughters, Mrs. Donna Carrico of Stockport, Mrs. Geraldine Pratt of O'Fallon, Mo., Mrs. Louise Lanam of Norfolk, Va., and Mrs. Ruby Dorothy of Mount Pleasant; 35 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
