C.H. Heisel dies at 66

Charles L. Heisel Sr., 66, died Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. at University Hospitals in Iowa City. He had been ill the past month.

The service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8 p.m.

Charles Heisel was born July 4, 1912 near Glasgow, the son of Lou and Nina Grant Heisel. On July 10, 1938, he married Violat Stride.

He had lived in the Glasgow community of Round Prairie Township all his life where he was a farmer. He also actively engaged in Green Thumb Conservation for Jefferson County.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Kathy Kranch, Beverly, W.Va., three sons, Charles Heisel Jr., Stockport, Kevin Heisel, Fairfield and Kerry Heisel at home.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren, on brother and two sisters, Virgil Heisel, Fairfield, Mildred Smith, Fairfield and Marjory Wilhelm, Stockport.

He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter and one brother.
