E. Parrish Dies At 96

STOCKPORT - Elizabeth B. Parrish, 96, former long-time resident of the Stockport community, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Oklahoma City, Okla.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Stockport Methodist Church with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

The casket is expected to arrive at the Weston Behner Funeral Home Thursday evening.

Elizabeth B. Parrish was born near Milan in Sumner County, Kansas, September 7, 1880. She was the daughter of Lyndon H. and Jane Harper Cook.

The family moved to Iowa from Kansas in 1890 and settled near Salem in Henry County.

Elizabeth Cook was married to James A. Parrish May 30, 1901, at Hillsboro. She moved from the Stockport community to Kansas in 1973.

She was active as a Sunday School teacher, member of the Women's Society, 65-year member of the Stockport Methodist Church, and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include one son, Raymond E. Parrish, Oklahoma City; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Phillip A. Blackford, Ottumwa, and Mrs. Helmuth Klein, Olympia, Wash.
