Gordon Duke
MEMPHIS, Mo. - A funeral for Gordon Duke, 55, rural Memphis, who died Thursday in his home, will be at 2 p.m. today in Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, with Rev. Neil Bubach officiating.
Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Duke was born Sept. 23, 1923 in Douds, Iowa, son of Edward H. and Viola Alice Creek Duke. He married Nettie Sedore in 1943.
He was a farmer, a veteran of World War II and a member of the Memphis VFW post and Methodist Chruch(err).
Survivors include his wife of Memphis; a son Gary of Lawton, Okla.; daughters Karen Fountain, Atlanta, Texas, Mrs. Phil (Kathy) Hyde, Conway, Mo. and Kimberly Duke, Kirksville; brother Roscoe d. of South Dakota; sisters Opal Brown, South Dakota, Frances Dosher, Mount Pleasant, Elsie Stagers and Velma Burr, Douds, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
