LENNA L. FINE

Lenna L. Fine, 88, formerly of Rock Island, Ill. passed away Saturdy noon, Sept. 3 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Thompson, Revere, Mo.

Born July 20, 1878 at Anson, Mo. he was the son of Elijah W. and Mary Ann Overhulser Fine. One of a family of eight, he was the last survivor.

He was married in 1904 to Blanche Dalton of Kewanee, Ill., where he was employed for several years, later moving to the Anson community where he farmed until 1922. At that time he went to work for the Rock Island Railroad and for 42 years lived in Rock Island. After Mrs. Fine's death in 1964 he made his home at Revere with his daughter, Dorotha.

He graduated from Farmington High School in 1900, under the late Prof. A.T.S. Owen.

A member of the 15th Ave. Christian Church of Rock Island, he served in various capacities as Deacon, Elder and member of the Church Board, and was a member of the Adult Bible Class.

A quiet unassuming man, he was a friend to all and loved by all who knew him.

Survivors, besides his daughter and son-in-law, are three grandsons, Dan, Paul and John, and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Shelley and Barbara.

The body was removed to the Karle-Shaffer Funeral Home at Kahoka and later to Knox-Larson at Rock Island where funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, beside his wife.
