Mrs. Clara Proper

Mrs. Clara Proper, 76, Bonaparte, died Sunday, Aug. 4 at 9:10 P.M. in Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines.

She spent most of her life in Bonaparte with the exception of a few years in Nebraska and California. She was a 50 year member of O.E.S. She was born October 8, 1891 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of John and Anna Ecklund Johnson.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Anna Johnson of Des Moines; three sons, Worthy Proper of Orange, Calif., Richard of Bonaparte; Donald of Canton, Ill; four daughters, Mrs. Wannabelle Mosier of Muscatine, Mrs. Dorothy Morgan of Des Moines, Mrs. Virginia Troutman and Mrs. Irene Burns, both of Bonaparte; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Christy of Bonaparte and Miss Nellie Johnston of Des Moines; two brothers, Oscar Johnson of Flint, Mich., and Andre Johnson of St. Augustine, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 P.M., Thursday, Aug. 8 at Bonaparte Presbyterian church with the Rev. Winfrey officiating. Burial at Vale Cemetery, north of Bonaparte.
