WILLIAM EDGAR PARKE

William Edgar Parke, 62, of Revere, Mo. rural route 1, died Sunday, May 23 at 9:30 p.m. in Burlington Hospital, Burlington. He had been ill one year.

He was born Feb. 4, 1903, in Clark County, Mo., the son of Lewis Edgar and Margaret Wilson Parke.

For 17 years he was employed on production at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant at Middletown.

On Jan. 12, 1927 in Carthage, Ill., he married Bertha Irene Doud, who survives.

Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John (Pat) Wagner Jr. of Burlington, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Biddenstadt of Keokuk, Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Forde of Ottumwa; two sons, Richard E. Parke of Shellsburg and Roger K. Parke of Farmington; one brother, Howard T. Parke of Corpus Christi, Tex., 10 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, May 26, at 2 p.m. Central Standard Time, in the Methodist church at Athens, Mo. with the Rev. Hollis Wilhelm officiating. Burial was in Athens cemetery.
