MRS. CLARA NIECE

Mrs. Clara Niece, age 79, passed away at the Henry County Memorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, on Tuesday, Oct. 10. She was a former resident of Hillsboro, the past several years a resident of Mt. Pleasant.

Born Oct. 1, 1888, at Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Cornelius and Ann Etta Morehead Smith. On Oct. 1?, 1930, she was married to Elmer Niece, who preceded her in death on June 4, 1961.

Surviving are three step-sons, Arnold Niece of Hillsboro, Harold Niece of Fairfield and Fred Niece of Fairfield; two step-daughters, Mrs. Mary Huston of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Erma Smith of Pekin, Iowa; one brother, Erse Smith, Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 13th at 2 p.m. from the Beatty Funeral Chapel in Salem. Rev. David Diercks of the Hillsboro Baptist church officiating with interment in the Forest Home Cemetery at Mt. Pleasant.
