Elmer Roy Muntz

Elmer Roy Muntz, 69, of Fort Madison died suddenly at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6.

He was stricken at the Anthes hotel where he was employed as a desk clerk. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Sacred Heart hospital, Fort Madison.

He was born June 6, 1898 near Bonaparte, the son of Jacob and Josephine Simmons Muntz.

On June 26, 1922, he married Florence Ruth Tully, who survives.

He is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mayme) Cocherell and Mrs. Thomas (Mildred) Cocherell, both of Duarte, Calif., and Miss Donna J. Muntz, at home; two brothers, Frank Muntz and Robert Muntz, both of Farmington; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Von Seggen and Mrs. Fern Wells, both of Farmington, and Mrs. Vera Gee, Davenport; and six grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. in Nieter's Chapel, Fort Madison. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.
