Mrs. Lula A. Lane

Mrs. Lula A. Lane, 90, of Bonaparte died Saturday, Nov. 4 at 9:30 P.M. in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, after a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 28, 1877 in Carthage, Ill., the daughter of Sater A. and Sophronia Carlisle Main.

On June 27, 1906, at Carthage, she married Walter S. Lane. He died May 22, 1966.

A resident of Bonaparte for 62 years, she assisted her husband in operation of the drug store.

Mrs. Lane was a member of the Bonaparte Presbyterian church, the Sunshine Society, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank McGlothlen of Stockport, and Mrs. Kenneth Warner of Bonaparte; two half-brothers, Churchill Main of Granite City, Ill. and Sater Main of Carthage, Ill., one grandson, and two great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, 3 brothers and a sister.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bonaparte Presbyterian church with the Rev. Harold Schirm officiating. Burial was in Moss Ridge Cemetery at Carthage, Ill.

Millers' Home for Funerals in Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
