DIED.
Elizabeth Jane Lowery was born January 29, 1840, near Roseville, Muskingdom county, Ohio. Died at the home of her sister, Amanda Crown, in Farmington, Iowa, July 28, 1894, aged 54 years, 5 months and 29 days. At the age of 3 years she had scarlet fever, which destroyed her hearing and voice, shutting her up for life from the inestimable pleasure to be derived from the use of these two senses, yet she was a cheerful and faithful child in the home. Her late sickness was of about six weeks duration, through which she was patient and peaceful. She was conscious till within four hours of her death. She leaves an aged father, three sisters and six brothers to mourn the loss.
At 2 p.m., the 29th, appropriate funeral services were conducted in the M. E. church, Farmington, in the presence of a large congregation. Thence her remains were taken to the family's burying place, three miles west of Farmington, and laid to rest to await the resurrection call.
