CARL HAFFNER

Carl Daniel Haffner, 70, a retired farmer, died Thursday afternoon, March 16 in Burlington Hospital after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 20, 1896, in Lee County, the son of Daniel and Katherine Becker Haffner. July 16, 1929, he married Irene Shoemaker at Ft.Madison.

Mr. Haffner was a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church and a life resident of the Sharon community.

Surviving are two son, Daniel and Joseph, both of Farmington; five daughters, Mrs. Wendell Warkins of Farmington, Mrs. Lyle Mills, Mrs. Guy C. Mills, and Wanda Haffner, all of Burlington, Mrs. Donald R. Gibbs of Toledo, Ia.; a sister, Mr. Earl DeRosear of Ft. Madison; two brothers, Herbert of Bloomfield and Albert of Wayland, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, March 19 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sharon Presbyterian church. Rev. Kenneth Harden officiated. Burial was in Sharon cemetery.
