Gene Leland Gordon

Gene Leland Gordon, 17, of Bonaparte, was killed at 11 a.m. Friday, nov. 8, in an auto accident.

He was born March 31, 1951, at Aledo, of Ill., the son of Virgil Lester and Mildred Johnston Gordon. He was a senior at Harmony Community High School.

Surviving are his parents, a brother, Paul, of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Mrs. John Gittings of Biggsville, Ill.; 3 nieces and 2 nephews, a grandfather, Charles Gordon of Freeport, Ill., and a grandmother, Mrs. Leonora Dykeman of Monmouth, Ill., aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Johnson and his grandmother, Mrs. Charles Gordon.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Catcott Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with the Rev. Kenneth Harden of Farmington, pastor of the Sharon Church, officiating, and a service was held at Biggsville, Ill., on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church with the Rev. Mr. Harden assisted by Rev. George Baldridge. Burial was in the cemetery at Oquawka, Ill.
