CHARLES GARDNER

Charles L. Gardner, Chicago, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 20, two days before his 40th birthday.

He was born in Ft. Madison on Oct. 22, 1927, and lived in Ft. Madison until he was 14 years old. Mr. Gardner was a drafting engineer. He served in the Navy from 1945-1949. He was a member of Grace Evangelical church.

Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Gardner of Bentonsport and a brother and seven sisters, living in the Chicago area.

Military rites were conducted at the graveside in Oakland cemetery, Ft. Madison, Tuesday morning at 10:30, the Rev. Larry Watson officiating.
