HOWARD M. EDEN

Howard M. Eden, 73, of Bonaparte, died suddenly at his home Thursday, Feb. 9, at 11:20 p.m.

He was born July 3, 1893 in Lone Tree, Iowa, the son of John and Sarah Draubaugh Eden.

On May 21, 1914 at Morning Sun, he married Frata Morrison, who survives.

They have been residents of Bonaparte since 1940. He was a farmer. Mr. Eden was a member of the Methodist church.

Besides his widow, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Alan (Helen) Latta, Mrs. Ray (Gertrude)Swanson, both of Lone Tree, Mrs. Dorrence (Vera) Hemmings of Donnellson, Mrs. Quenton (Ruth) Dilger of South Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Forrest (Mildred) Wilson of Bonaparte; three sons, Fred of Bonaparte, George of Silver Springs, Md., and Ralph of Muscatine; two brothers, George C. and Elmer O., both of Lone Tree; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Vethier of Santa Ana, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.

The funeral service was held Sunday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m. in the Bonaparte Methodist church with the Rev. Harold Schirm officiating. Burial was in Swank cemetery at Lone Tree.

Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
