Max DeRosear

Max DeRosear, 72, Donnellson rural, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 20 at 3 p.m. at his home.

He was born Oct. 24, 1895, in Lee county, the son of Albert and Emma Saxe DeRosear. On Feb. 2, 1918, near Bonaparte, he married Mary Z. Huff. She died Dec. 10, 1951.

Mr. DeRosear, a retired carpenter, spent his entire life in Van Buren and Lee counties. He was a member of United Church of Christ.

Surviving are three sons, Harley of Donnellson, Verle of Farmington and Paul of Menlo; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Cable and Mrs. Dorothy King, both of Burlington; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde of Ft. Madison and Fred of Memphis, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Valley Dalton of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Wayne Ross of Hillsboro and Mrs. Mabel Turner of Mt. Pleasant.

Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. at Millers' Home for Funerals at Donnellson. Rev. Victor Enelmann officiated. Burial was in Sharon cemetery.
