MRS. VERA BRIDEN

Mrs. Vera E. Briden, 58, died Saturday afternoon, July 22 in Van Buren County Memorial hospital at Keosauqua.

She was born May 12, 1909, in Waterloo, the daughter of William E. and Carrie Birtch Shaulis. On June 13, 1937, at Nashua, she married Eldon R. Briden. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Karee Johnson of Fort Bragg, N.C.; and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Corey of Jesup.

She was a member of the WSCS and active in 4-H work.

Services were held Tuesday, July 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the Stockport Methodist Church with the Rev. Ora Reep officiating. A second service was held at 2:30 p.m. at the East Janesville Methodist Church, north of Waterloo, with Dr. Herbert Temple officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Waterloo.

Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham was in charge of arrangements.
