FRED E. BOYLE

Fred E. Boyle, 74, of 2523 Avenue G, Fort Madison, died 11:40 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 1969 in the Sacred Heart Hospital, following a six weeks illness.

He was born April 13, 1895 in Ft. Madison, son of William S. and Virginia Hamilton Boyle.

On December 14, 1916 he was united in marriage with Goldie B. Howell, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Dr. Fred Boyle of Keosauqua, Ia. and one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Dorothy) Francis of Fort Madison, one brother, Russell Boyle of Fort Madison, one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Becker of Chicago, Ill., three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

A lifelong resident of Ft. Madison, he operated a grocery business in Fort Madison until 1941, and was with the Moorman MFC Co. until his retirement in 1960.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, where he was an elder for many years.

Services were held at Nieters Chapel, Fort Madison at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 1969 with Rev. Gerald F. Sawyer officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
