MARY SPEES COSSEL

Funeral services for Mrs. Asa Cossel, whose demise we noted before, were held Tuesday, March 31, conducted by the Rev. Dan. Newland, at Barker U.B. church. She died near Granger, March 29.

Singers were Raymond Cossel, Elmer Weilbrenner, Mrs. Geo. Cossell, Mrs. Rosalee Gooden with Mrs. Florence Weilbrenner as pianist. Bodybearers were Wm. William, Arthur McWilliam, Waldo McWilliam, Lew Rush, Elmer Wilson and Geo. Cossel.

The following obituary was read at the funeral:

Mary L. Spees was born Dec. 28, 1859 in Birmingham, Iowa and departed this life in Granger, March 29, at her home, aged 89 years, three months and one day.

She was united in marriage Nov. 25, 1880 to Asa Cossel. To this union four children were born - Frank of Stiles, Iowa, Artie of Granger, Oliver of Napa, Idaho. Elmer departed this life at the age of six years. Surviving are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cossel was a faithful member of Barker U.B. church for many years. She was a devoted companion, kind and loving mother and a good neighbor.

She will be sadly missed. - Memphis, Mo. Reveille.
