Dr. Eldon R. Hurd

Dr. Eldon R. Hurd, 61, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, March 1 at his home at Milford, Ind. after an illness of 1 1/2 years.

Surviving are his widow, Agnes; two sons, Robert J. and John E.; his mother, Mrs. Mary Hurd; a sister, Mrs. Esther Poynter, and four grandchildren, all of Milford. He was born in Milford on Aug. 17 1902.

He had practiced dentistry in Milford since 1932. On June 12, 1927, he married the former Agnes Moore in Indianapolis. He was a member of Milford Methodist Church, Ancil Geiger Post No. 226 of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge of Kosciusko No. 418, Order of Eastern Star, Kosciusko Chapter No. 160, Kosciusko County Dental Society and the American Dental Society. He served as a lieutenant colonel in the dental corps in the Army during World War II.

Funeral services were held at Milford Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, with Rev. Richard Sumner, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Milford Cemetery.

Mrs. Hurd is the daughter of the late Professor and Mrs. J.E. Moore former residents of the Bonaparte area.
