Matilda Elizabeth Fairbrothers was born in Van Buren County, Iowa Dec. 18, 1847, and died at her home in Only, Camden County, MO., June 29, 1911, after a brief illness. She was the sixth of a family of seven children, three whom survive her. Miss Fairbrothers professed religion early in life. She later joined the Christian church and was a member of the same at the time of her death. She was married in 1866 to Hugh G. Wright. To this union was born nine children, four of whom preceded their mother to the "Glory Land." Funeral services were conducted by Brother Parks at the Stoner Cemetery, June 30th. A large number of relatives and sympathizing friends were present to pay their last respects to the departed.
