Kenneth W. Coleman, 89, of Farmington, died at April 29, 2017, at Keosauqua Health Care Center. He was born December 9, 1927, near West Point to Stephen and Iva Young Coleman. Ken graduated from Cantril High School in 1945 and married Betty J. Davis August 7, 1955, in Cantril Christian Church. They lived in various locations in Van Buren County and retired to Farmington in 1998. Ken farmed and had worked at American Chain & Cable, Fairfield, and served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean War. He was a member of Bonaparte Baptist Church, a 50-year Mason in Workman Lodge No. 634, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Stockport, a member of Sargeant-Osweiler Post No. 563 American Legion, Bonaparte. He was a Past Master of the former Cantril Masonic Lodge, a 50-year member and Past Patron of Stockport Chapter No. 544, Order of Eastern Star, was a Rainbow Dad, received the Grand Cross of Honor and was a past-president of Bonaparte Lions Club.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife Betty, a son, Keith Coleman (Teri) of Burlington, a daughter, Kimberly Maakestad (Steven) of Robins, IA, two sisters, Mary Ellen Harward of Hot Springs, AR and Darla Casady of Mountain Home, AR., five grandchildren, Shelby Coleman, Amaya and Christian Maakestad, Elisabeth Housman and Dr. Seth Housman (Dr. Erica), and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Leslie, Keith, Gene, Charles, Gary and Marvin Coleman. The Coleman's hosted five foreign exchange students: Claudia Cavezas and Karyna Oliveira, both of Brazil and Natalia, Laura and Andres Barrantes all from Costa Rica.

Funeral services were held May 3, 2017, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Pastor Mark Caston and Pastor Aaron Helterbran officiating. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington with military honors by SargeantOsweiler Post.
