Ware Hall Taylor, 89, of West Burlington, died April 26, 2017, at the Danville Care Center in Danville.

Born December 19, 1927, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Ware S. and Ruth Hall Taylor. On August 17, 1955, he married Theresa Beach in Tucson, AZ.

Hall graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1945. He attended Drake University with a B.A. degree in business administration.

In 1950, he started farming and continued to farm for 45 years. After retiring, he moved to West Burlington.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving on the U.S.S. Navy Block Island ship as an aviation electronics technician.

He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and traveling with his wife. He loved to go bicycling with his family, especially his granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife Theresa; two daughters, Cheryl Taylor of Las Vegas, NV, and Barbara McKasson of West Burlington, IA; two granddaughters, Jessica and Melissa of Burlington; and three great-grandchildren, Lathan, Derrick Jr., and Laylah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Jean (Molly) Grove; one brother-in-law, Daryl Grove; and one son-in-law, Dennis McKasson.

The funeral service for Mr. Taylor was held on May 1, 2017, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home with Rev. Father Bill Roush officiating. Full military honors were rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Burial was in Sharon Cemetery in Farmington.
