Gladys M. Bachmann, 99, formerly of rural Milton, died April 24, 2017, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. She Was born August 15, 1917, in rural Libertyville to Charles and Pearl McClain Pearson and married Oscar Bachmann March 11, 1940, in Burlington. He died August 11, 2004. Gladys and Oscar farmed most of their lives in Van Buren County and moved to West Des Moines for health reasons in May 2004. They were active in Grace United Methodist Church, Milton.

Gladys was currently a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church and had been a member of United Methodist Women.

Remaining to cherish her memory are a son, Wendell Bachmann (Emma Lou) of West Des Moines, a daughter-in-law, Mary Bachmann of Independence, MO, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Duane, three brothers, Glenn, Rodney and Leslie Pearson and five sisters, Grace Frazier, Beulah Herriott, Florence Horn, Nellie Davisson and Katharyn Parks.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. Saturday May 6, 2017, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. ellis Andrews officiating. Visitation with family present will be 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the service. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
