Mrs. Charles Graham

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Birmingham Methodist church for Mrs. Charles Graham, 84, former Birmingham resident, who passed away on Friday at the Schiedel nursing home in Fairfield. A patient in the home for two years she had been seriously ill for several months. Dr. L.L. Weis of Fairfield conducted the ritse(sp)assisted by Rev. Glenn Lochhead of Birmingham. Soloist was Tom Fordyce of Libertyville, accompanied by Mrs. Earl Baker. Bearers were Grover Johnston, Lee Ruggles, Victor Campbell, A.J. Wells, John McNamar and Ben Nelson, all of Birmingham. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery, Birmingham.

Mrs. Graham was born Sept. 20, 1867 at Stiles, Iowa, the daughter of James and Julia Penney. She was married to Charles Graham July 2, 1893 at downing, Mo. He preceded her in death Feb. 24, 1946. Mrs. Graham was a resident of Van Buren and Jefferson counties for 40 years. Her husband was a banker at Birmingham and Douds for many years and later farmed in the Libertyville area. The couple resided in Libertyville after Mr. Graham's retirement.

Mrs. Graham was a member of the Libertyville Methodist church and the Keosauqua Chapter of P.E.O.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Winnifred Holton of Fairfield and one brother Leslie Penney of Omaha. One brother and three sisters are deceased.
