Again the grim reaper of death has visited our community and taken from our midst our beloved Aunt Mary, as she was commonly known.

Mary Anna Rube Von Seggen, daughter of John G. and Dorothy Rube, was born near Croton, Iowa, Feb. 9, 1864, and departed from her earthly career at the home of her sister, at Prairie City, Iowa, Nov. 8, 1939, aged 75 years and 9 months.

On Dec. 2, 1902, she was united in marriage to Fred Von Seggen of Farmington and lived in this community until the recent death of her husband August 14, 1939.

She was converted in a Croton camp meeting in 1880 and was sanctified three weeks later. her life was a living testimony of her close walk with her Lord, always desirous to help others find the Savior. She was a charter member of the Nazarene church, organized in July, 1910. It was her great delight to entertain in her home ministers, missionaries and laborers for the Lord, giving unselfishly of her time and strength to advance the kingdom of God. Surely it may be fittingly spoken of her "She has done what she could." The Lord buries his workman but the work goes on. Her earthly pilgrimage is over and the race won. Home at last.

She leaves at her time of going a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary E. Von Seggen; two step-grandchildren, Milo and Wilma Von Seggen; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Holdefer of Prairie City, and Mrs. Frances Kerry of Grays Lake, Ill.; three brothers, John G. Rube of Portis, Kansas, George Rube of Keokuk, and Charles Rube of Prairie City.
