Last Rites Held For P.G. Pendarvis

Deane Pendarvis, 33, was found dead in the "Deanepenn Hatchery" in Emmetsburg, Friday morning, Jan. 7, 1938.

Mr. Pendarvis is a former Keosauqua man, a graduate of the Keosauqua high school in the class of 1923 and a teacher for one year in the rural schools of the county. He was actively associated with 4-H club work, and with poultry interests in this county as well as in northeast Iowa. He established the hatchery business in Emmetsburg, which he has owned and operated since 1932.

Mr. Pendarvis is survived by his wife, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.P. Pendarvis of Ames, and one sister, Mrs. Colin Craig, of Keosauqua.

Funeral services were held in the M.E. church in Emmetsburg, Sunday afternoon, and in the Keosauqua M.E. church, Tuesday afternoon. The latter service was in charge of the Rev. C.H. Orf of Keosauqua. Interment was in the Pittsburg cemetery.
