Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Roberts took Mrs. Mary McManis to Newton Sunday, Dec. 22 to the bedside of her sister, Mrs. Laura Freshwater, who died Monday at 8:40 a.m. after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Dec. 26 at Newton with burial in Fairfield. She is survived by one daughter, Helen McClure of Spokane, Wash.; one son, James Freshwater of Davenport; two brothers, James Wireman of Washington, Ill. and Carl Wireman of Chillicothe, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Mary McManis of Milton and Mrs. Violet Roland of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews.
