Mrs. Lillian Haney

Mrs. Lillian Haney, 87, died Saturday, July 8 at the Van Buren County Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for the past five weeks.

She was born at Salem, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Mary Stoops. She was a life time resident of Van Buren county and for the past three years had been cared for in the home of Mrs. Naomi Price.

She was a member of the Cantril Christian church, the White Shrine and a 50 year member of the O.E.S., also the Emerson Club. She was married to William Haney Oct. 1891, who died in 1945.

She is survived by one nephew, Ralph Stoops of Stockport, also several nephews and nieces on her husbands side.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 10 at the Cantril Christian church with Elder H.C. Shaw officiating.

Lowell Paulson sang After and Under His Wings. Pallbearers were W.L. Brown, Loren Peel, Harold Wells, Charles Owens, S.E. Wellborn, Craig Van Auken. Burial was in the Pittsburg cemetery.
