Otis R. Kerr

Otis Ray Kerr, son of George and Vigis Hanks Kerr, was born Sept. 25, 1905 and died Nov. 17, 1961, age 56 years, one month and 22 days.

He was born on a farm in Scotland County, Missouri, 4 1/2 miles southwest of Mt. Sterling, Iowa. This farm was the farm of his grandparents and his parents and he lived his entire life in this home. Otis loved the farm and his livestock and was especially interested in Belgian horses. The neighbors knew him to be helpful and trustworthy, his family knew him to be a kind and loving son, brother and uncle.

At an early age Otis became a member of the Asbury Methodist church and was always interested in the work of the church and other community activities.

Those who mourn their loss are two sisters, Mrs. Opal Cline and Mrs. Muriel Parish; a niece, Mrs. Carolyn Kerr; a great-nephew, David; a brother-in-law, Ray Parish; a nephew-in-law, Robert L. Kerr; his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Kerr, numerous cousins and many friends.

The funeral was held Monday Nov. 20, at 2 o'clock at the Mt. Sterling Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. B.R. Hollis, assisted by the Rev. Richard Eis, pastor of the church. Burial was in Harness cemetery.
