Clay McManis

Clay C. McManis, 74, died Friday, May 12 in Sacred Heart hospital in Fort Madison.

The son of William and Alice Duncan McManis, he was born Oct. 4, 1886 at Milton. In 1907 he married Iva Work, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Noel and Craig McManis; one daughter, Mrs. Horace Newlon; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of Fort Madison. Two sons, Lloyd and Max McManis, preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Methodist Church. The McManis family lived in Cantril until moving to Fort Madison several years ago.

The service was held at the Cantril Methodist Church Sunday, May 14 at 2 p.m. with Elder H.C. Shaw in charge, assisted by Rev. Karl Cannady. Burial was in the Cantril cemetery.
