Orris Meinhardt

Orris M. Meinhardt, 72, rural route Farmington, died suddenly at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 26 while at work on his farm.

The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Meinhardt, he was born near Donnellson, May 17, 1889. He was married to Madge Surrena Dec. 26, 1927. He was assistant manager at United Seeds Inc., at Sioux City and Omaha, Nebr., returning to this vicinity in 1958 to make his home. Mr. Meinhardt was a member of the Farmington Methodist church, Mt. Moriah lodge AF & AM, and Consistory Shrine, Sioux City.

Besides his widow he is survived by a son, Robert E. Meinhardt, Dixon, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Robert E. Dunley, Frankfurt, Germany; Mrs. Howard Stout, Oskaloosa; two brothers, Otto M. Meinhardt, Kahoka, Mo.; Harold Meinhardt, Argyle; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Berghold, Roseville, Calif.; Mrs. Edith Fett, Argyle; Mrs. Cora Fett, Farmington; and three grandchildren. A brother, Elmer, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday May 29 at 2 p.m. at the Farmington Methodist church with the Rev. Ellsworth Walker officiating. Burial at Embury cemetery.
