Mrs. Sam Witt

Jennie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Gilchrist, was born March 27, 1885 in Butte, Mont. and passed away Feb. 26, 1962 in her sleep at her home.

She moved to Iowa with her parents in 1890 and then moved to Bozeman, Mont. in 1905. She was a former resident of Van Buren County.

She was united in marriage to Sam Witt, Dec. 21, 1908 in Belgrade, Mont. and lived in the surrounding area until moving to the Bridger area in 1933.

Mrs. Witt was a member of the Bridger Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Marvin S. of Absarokee, Mont. and Stanley C. of Minot, North Dakota; four daughters, Mrs. N.F. Simpson, Roseburg, Ore., Mrs. Gordon Olson, Helena, Mont., Mrs. Geneva Highland and Mrs. Adrian Langstaff of Billings, Mont.; a brother, Don Gilchrist and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Anderson, both of Los Angeles, Calif; 24 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends in this area.

Funeral services were held March 1 in the Bridger Methodist Church with Rev. Lewis officiating. Burial in Bridger Cemetery.
