Mrs. Tilman Grimes

Mrs. Tilman Grimes, 74, resident of the Bethel community northwest of Birmingham, died Sunday, June 7 at 2:15 p.m. in the Jefferson county hospital. She had suffered a heart attack three days previously.

She had lived in the Bethel community 40 years and was a member of the Bethel Methodist church. She was Nettie Morrison, daughter of John and Nancy Hickerson Morrison and was born in Jefferson county August 21, 1884, near Libertyville. She was married September 13, 1905, at Libertyville to Mr. Grimes, who survives.

She also leaves two daughters, Mrs. James Syfert of Keosauqua and Mrs. Homer Parcell of Brighton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Roberson of Sun Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Minnie Emmons of Battle Creek, Mich.

The funeral was held Wednesday, June 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Berner(Behner) funeral home in Fairfield. The Rev. Elton Coleman of the Libertyville Methodist church officiated. Burial was in the Winsell cemetery southwest of Libertyville.
