Elivia A. Fitzgerald, 69, of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, died at a hospital in Memphis, Tenn., on Friday morning, Dec. 12, 1941. His health had been failing for several months prior to his entering the hospital on Nov. 15.

He was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, and spent his youth in this state, where he was united in marriage with June Radestock of Bonaparte.

He moved to Thayer, Mo., in 1898, and lived there about ten years, going to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, where he established a mercantile business aobut 33 years ago. He has bee engaged in the retail trade since that time.

He was a member of the Baptist church of Walnut Ridge and had served as deacon during his residence in that town. He was also a member of the city council for several years, and had filled other positions of trust and responsibility.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Harry of Brooklyn, New York, James and Roy Fitzgerald of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. R.C. Nash of Memphis and several grandchildren; also two half sisters who live in the state of Washington.

Funeral services were held Sunday in the Walnut Ridge Baptist church, conducted by Rev. James E. Fitzgerald of Stamps, Ark. Interment was in Lawrence Memorial park.
