Funeral for Mrs. Josephine Acklan was held at the St. Boniface catholic church here on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. After a lingering illness of several months her death occurred on Wednesday, February 25, at the Wm and sister Louise Jacques home, where Mrs. Acklan had resided with her brother and sister. She was 74 years of age and was one of the well known pioneer farm women, whose home for fifty years was several miles northeast of town. The husband, the late John F. Acklan preceded her in death more than forty years ago. Those surviving are the son, John Acklan of Monmouth, Ill.; two brothers, William and Louie Jacques of Farmington and two sisters, Mrs. James Burk of near here and Louise Jacques of Farmington and several more distant relatives and a large circle of friends. Interment took place in the rural Acklan cemetery.
